Whistler Search and Rescue

Website Design & Build · Brand Style Development

Whistler Search & Rescue is exactly what the name suggests — a team of 35+ highly trained volunteers on call 24 hours a day, responding to over 90 emergencies a year in some of the most demanding terrain in BC. Crevasse rescues, avalanche response, helicopter long-line operations. They train 44 weeks of the year and run entirely on donations and fundraising.

The website didn’t reflect any of that. It was old, dated, and DIY — the kind of site that undersells an organization before a visitor has read a single word.

The Work

Whistler SAR came to us with a logo and not much else. No brand guide, no visual system, no established style. That meant building everything from scratch — developing a visual identity for the site that conveyed the weight and professionalism of the organization while remaining accessible and clear to the community members, donors, and potential volunteers landing on it.

The site was structured around what mattered most: who they are, how to donate, how to get involved, and how to stay informed. A third-party donation integration was built in cleanly, alongside volunteer information, news updates, and safety resources. The navigation was designed for quick access — because for an organization like this, clarity isn’t just good design, it’s the point.

The result is a site that finally represents the calibre of the team behind it.
